INDIANAPOLIS – Legacy House, a nonprofit agency that provides counseling and advocacy services to adults and children who are victims of violence, announces three new members appointed to its Board of Directors.
In addition to appointing new members, current board member Liz Carroll was elected to serve as vice-chair. Carroll is an Indianapolis attorney and is executive director of the Indiana Assisted Living Association.
Legacy House offers a wide range of services for victims of violence, including crisis intervention, individual and family trauma counseling, support groups, victim advocacy and social service referrals. Legacy House services are free.
"Legacy House specializes in the ‘next days,’ when you wake up and it still doesn't feel the way you hope it would," said Kristina Korobov, Legacy House board chair. “The hard work of healing from the trauma of violence often comes well after the event or medical care or any court proceedings.”
Korobov added, “We are privileged to have a board that is sensitive to the long-term needs of our clients and to the staff members who assist them. “
Legacy House is a program of the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County and is located on the lower level of the North Arlington Community Health Center, 2505 N. Arlington Ave., on the east side of Indianapolis. To learn more about Legacy House, visit www.Legacy-House.org or call 317-554-5272.
