(Indianapolis) – The board of trustees for Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County has named Joyce Q. Rogers as chairperson. Health & Hospital Corporation operates the Marion County Public Health Department, Eskenazi Health, Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) and the Division of Long-Term Care.
Rogers was appointed to the board in March of 2014.
Rogers is currently vice president for development and external relations for diversity, equity and multicultural affairs at the Indiana University Foundation. She works to develop and execute student recruitment, external relations, and fundraising strategies to support and advance diversity and inclusiveness initiatives. This includes increasing the presence and significance of Indiana University among prospective and current minority students, alumni, business and community leaders, and donors.
Rogers was instrumental in creating a partnership between Indiana University and the Madam Walker Legacy Center in Indianapolis to continue the rich legacy of Madam C.J. Walker. With support from The Lilly Endowment, these partners will work to refurbish and modernize one of the city’s most beloved landmarks.
Rogers previously served as vice president for development at Ivy Tech, as well as president and CEO of Indiana Black Expo, Inc. She has been highly-engaged in a wide variety of community, civic, and professional organizations, and recognized nationally for her efforts in diversity and inclusion.
