This month’s stream highlight is Pleasant Run and Bean Creek. Our Water Quality department samples Pleasant Run and Bean Creek five times a month as part of our ambient sampling program. If you are interested in our watershed sampling program, visit https://marionhealth.org/surface-water-program/

We will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day. This includes all district health offices, clinics, and walk-in services for birth certificates, death certificates and immunization records. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Summer break may have ended, but tick season is here through the fall. Protect yourself by wearing insect repellant and long sleeves and pants outside. Check for ticks in your hair and ears, under your arms, around your waist, between your legs, and behind your knees.

Staff from MCPHD’s Housing and Neighborhood Health department joined residents and IMPD officers for a community cleanup yesterday at Haughville Park. Efforts such as this support MCPHD’s mission of promoting clean, safe and healthy neighborhoods.
