HHC is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, whose members are appointed by the Mayor of Indianapolis, the City-County Council and the County Commissioners.

Our Mission is to promote and protect the health of everyone in the community and provide healthcare to those who are underserved.

Construction of a new headquarters building for the Indianapolis Emergency Medical Service (IEMS), is progressing well! IEMS will move from its current westside headquarters on Georgetown Road to an area close to the new MCPHD laboratory in early 2027.
