FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 24, 2020

“It is with a heart filled with gratitude for all we have accomplished together for our community that I announce my resignation as president and CEO of the Health & Hospital Corporation (HHC) of Marion County. After more than 18 deeply rewarding years, it is time for a new leader to build upon our achievements and continue this critically important work for the residents of Marion County. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role. My final day will be September 30.

I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to have had many opportunities to work to contribute to the greater good. And while this chapter is coming to a close, I will continue to be an admirer and supporter of the employees of each of HHC’s divisions.

I have unending appreciation for all of my colleagues, who demonstrate daily their extraordinary commitment to improving the lives of our community’s most vulnerable and have worked so hard to address society’s inequities. I am proud of what we accomplished collectively, but our work never ends.

Over the next 30+ days, I look forward to collaborating with the Board of Trustees, the entire HHC team and our stakeholders on a successful transition, and I will always be an ambassador for accessible, equitable, high quality health care.” – Matthew Gutwein
