December 5 H1N1 Clinic Will Be Open to Public

The Marion County Health Department and MSD of Lawrence Township will hold a H1N1 clinic for township students and those in the community in the at-risk group on Saturday, December 5. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lawrence North High School Fieldhouse, 7802 Hague Road. The clinic is free.

The clinic had been originally restricted for Lawrence Township students, but was opened to the general public due to the size of the facility, vaccine inventory and the health department’s desire to host another public clinic.

The health department encourages Lawrence Township students, children under age 10 who need a second dose of vaccine and those in the at-risk group to attend this clinic. The at-risk group includes:

A parent or guardian must accompany students to the clinic. Those planning on receiving a vaccination are asked to eat beforehand and wear a short-sleeved shirt.

Consent forms are available at www.mchd.com, under H1N1 Information. The forms must be completed and signed in order to receive a vaccination. If the form is completed prior to the clinic it will greatly expedite the vaccination process and reduce wait times. Forms will also be available at the clinics.

Those with questions can contact the Marion County Health Department Flu Helpline at 221-3366. The helpline is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
