Marion County Health Department Announces Additional H1N1 Vaccination Clinics
The Marion County Health Department will hold two H1N1 vaccine clinics next week. The clinics will be held at Lafayette Shopping Mall, 3919 Lafayette Road. Those coming to the clinics should park and enter on the east side of the mall, near Burlington Coat Factory.
The clinic schedule:
Wednesday, November 4
3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Thursday, November 5
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The clinics are for those in the at-risk group and includes:
- Women who are pregnant
- People who live with or provide care for infants younger than 6 months (parents, siblings and day care providers)
- Health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient contact.
- Those ages 6 months to 24 years old
- People ages 25 through 64 years old with medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.
No identification or proof of eligibility are required.
Those coming to the clinic will be given a ticket, indicating they will receive an H1N1 vaccine. Long lines are expected and indviduals are encouraged to dress for the weather conditions.
Local health officials ask those coming to the clinic to wear a short sleeved shirt so that nurses have easy access to the upper arm where vaccinations are given.
