Marion County Confirms Five New Cases of H1N1 Flu

Marion County Health Department director Virginia A. Caine, M.D. confirmed today that five new Marion County cases of H1N1 virus have been reported by the Indiana State Department of Health.

One of the cases involves a student at Northview Middle School in Washington Township. Under new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, the school will not be closed but students will be closely monitored for symptoms associated with the H1N1 virus.

The four remaining cases are being investigated by the Marion County Health Department.

Since the H1N1 outbreak, Marion County has registered seven confirmed cases.
