Health Department Announces New District Health Office Hours

Beginning January 3, the Marion County Public Health Department will begin offering appointments for some of its immunization clinics. The health department will continue to offer walk-in services for immunizations at all of its sites.
The change comes after health department district health offices faced large crowds seeking back to school immunizations. Many of those stood in long lines for long times and still did not receive services.
“We have tested appointments at one of our clinics and found this to be an efficient approach appreciated by our clients who liked the option of having a set time to come in. We are now expanding appointments to all of our district health offices,” said Virginia A. Caine, M.D., director, Marion County Public Health Department.
