Health Department Will Offer Seasonal Flu Vaccines Beginning September 8

The Marion County Health Department will begin offering seasonal flu vaccine through its District Health Offices on Tuesday, September 8.

The health department encourages all Marion County residents to get a seasonal flu vaccine this year.

Those identified as most at-risk for seasonal flu and those who should receive a flu shot include:

These clinics will not offer vaccine for the H1N1 flu, and the vaccinations at these clinics will not prevent the H1N1 flu virus.

Children under age 2 can receive the vaccine free of charge.

The flu or flu mist vaccine fee for those ages 2 through 18 is $10. Those 19 and older will be charged $15. Pneumonia vaccine are $40 and tetanus vaccine is $20. Medicare and Medicaid will be accepted.
