Marion County Public Health Department Vital Records Office Open on Election Day to Issue Birth Certificates; All Other Health Department Offices Closed on Tuesday, November 6

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Marion County Public Health Department’s Vital Records office will be open on Election Day, November 6, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. to issue certified birth certificates. No other services will be available on this day. The cost is $10 per birth certificate. A certified birth certificate is one of several official documents that can be used to obtain a driver’s license or state-issued ID from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The Vital Records office, located at 3838 N. Rural Street, can only issue birth certificates to people born in Marion County. Anyone seeking a certified birth certificate must bring a valid form of identification. A list of accepted IDs is posted on the Marion County Public Health Department website at www.mchd.com/vital2.htm

All other Marion County Public Health Department offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 6, in observance of Election Day.
