HHC Facilities
Residents
HHC proudly serves more than 6,500 elderly and infirm Hoosiers. In alignment with the LTC Division’s mission and vision, HHC provides specialized care for residents with complex health needs.
A primary focus for HHC is caring for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. With 45 Auguste’s Cottage Memory Care Units serving over 1,000 Hoosiers, HHC is one of the largest providers of specialized memory care in Indiana.
Facility Investments
Since 2003, HHC has invested over $500 million in facility renovations, with an annual average investment rate of $25 million. Beyond general renovations, key upgrades include:
- Transformation of two facilities into full-service memory-care units and four facilities into specialized pulmonary ventilator units.
- Installation of modern resident lift equipment and the replacement of 3,500 manual beds with electric models.
- Implementation of state-of-the-art nurse-call systems, electronic medical records across all facilities, and emergency generators to ensure full operational capacity during power outages.
Community Partnerships
HHC facilities maintain outstanding care coordination and transfer agreements with all Indianapolis-area hospitals as well as providers throughout the state. Additionally, many HHC facilities provide training for local law enforcement and first responders in dementia care and communication strategies for individuals living with these diseases.
