The Marion County Public Health Department has asked owners of “The Thriller” temporary water slide, 3901 Kevin Way, to cease operations until health department code violations, concerns with water run-off and permitting can be addressed.

Health department inspectors visited the site this morning and found there were no shower facilities as required by code and there was no system for draining discharge water used for hand washing off the site. Health officials have also contacted the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to ensure any required site permits have been acquired.

Earlier today, the health department spoke with a representative/owner of “The Thriller” to explain requirements associated with any food service at the site. Although no concession or other food stand is now on the site, permits would be needed before any such facility could serve the public.

The health department will continue to monitor the site and require all appropriate permits prior to approving its re-opening.
