Legacy House Fundraiser Set for August 27

An evening of education, elegance, and entertainment will be held Friday, August 27 as Legacy House hosts its annual Outpouring event. An opportunity to learn more about the mission, magnitude and milestones of Legacy House services, programs and people, Outpouring serves as both a friend and fund raising occasion.
Olinger will provide wine for the event. The IPS All City Jazz Band will provide the entertainment.
The Indianapolis Central Library will serve as the host site from 7-10 p.m. Tickets, at $75 per-person; can be reserved by contacting Linda Schwitz Pope at 554-5290.
Legacy House is a service center for adults and children affected by all types of violence including domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, homicide, stalking, robbery and burglary. All services are provided free of charge through grants, donations and fundraising events. Therapeutic services include individual and family counseling, support groups and children’s services such as play, art and talk therapy. Additional services include applications for emergency protective orders, emergency cell phone distribution, application assistance for the Indiana Victims of Violent Crime Compensation Fund, safety planning, and community outreach and education.
Legacy House is the only victim service agency outside of the criminal justice system that responds to all types violence. It is also the only agency providing service to men who are victims of violence as well as women and children. Legacy House provides services free of charge while most, if not all, other victim service agencies outside of the criminal justice system charge fees on a sliding scale basis.
