Poster Contest Encourages Creative Anti-Violence Messages

Marion County students in grades 5-8 are encouraged to compete for more than $1,500 in prizes as part of the Marion County Health Department’s annual anti violence poster contest. This year’s theme is “I have power over my actions.”

Students compete within grade divisions with awards presented for the top 5 entries in each grade level. Honorable Mention certificates also will be awarded.

The contest encourages students to anti-violence messages in areas including bullying, dating violence, domestic violence, child abuse, sibling abuse and other forms of interpersonal violence.

Entry deadline is April 11. Information can be obtained by contacting Byron Johnson at the health department at (317) 221-2085. Awards will be announced in May.
