INDIANAPOLIS – Health & Hospital Corporation (HHC) of Marion County has named Kimberly McElroy-Jones, Ph.D., D.Min., vice president of Diversity and Inclusion. Dr. McElroy-Jones previously served as director of Community Partnerships for Community Health at Eskenazi Health.

“Dr. McElroy-Jones has shown her strong ability to bring people together by working directly with neighborhoods and community groups to collaborate and find common ground,” said Paul Babcock, president and CEO of HHC. “Her work will allow us to foster even greater capabilities in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion among our neighbors and within our organization.”

In her new role, Dr. McElroy-Jones will spearhead the essential work of promoting equity, diversity and inclusion among neighbors and within the organization, which oversees Eskenazi Health, the Marion County Public Health Department, Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) and the Long Term Care Division.

“I am really excited to be able to expand on the work at Health & Hospital Corporation to enhance diversity and inclusion across the corporation and also throughout the communities we serve,” said Dr. McElroy-Jones. “I am also looking forward to continuing the work the corporation has been leading to end the health disparities that are crippling many of our neighborhoods in Central Indiana.”

In her role, Dr. McElroy-Jones was instrumental in leading the community engagement efforts in establishing three health equity zones in Indianapolis’ underrepresented neighborhoods. She helped to address long-term social determinants of health, including racial equity.

On Indianapolis’ eastside, Dr. McElroy-Jones spearheaded Eskenazi Health’s community engagement and collaboration in the planning and design of the new Eskenazi Health Thomas & Arlene Grande Campus, at the northeast corner of East 38th Street and North Arlington Avenue. Guided by community input, the facility now serves as a hub for community gathering, providing expanded and accessible care options and social amenities under one roof.
