Benefits

Medical – Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County’s (HHC) medical benefits features a three-tier benefit plan. Employees have open access to physicians and/or specialists. Prescription benefits are part of our medical plan, as well as health promotion/disease preventive programs, a prenatal program and a wellness program. HHC contributes a significant portion of the premium for medical benefits.

Dental – Employees may select from three dental coverage options, including traditional coverage and two point-of-service networks.

Vision – Employees may select from a network of providers and/or may receive discounts for out-of-network providers. Vision services include exams, materials and laser vision discounts.

Prescription Benefits – Prescription drug coverage is a part of the medical plan.

Basic Life Insurance – HHC provides term life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, which includes flexible, comprehensive and convenient life insurance. Employees have the option to supplement the basic life insurance with additional life insurance, including covering dependents.

Retirement Plan – HHC pays the total cost for the defined benefit retirement plan through the Public Employees Retirement Plan.

Flexible Spending Account – Company sponsored program that allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars for reimbursement. These reimbursements include IRS approved medical, dental, vision and day care expenses, which are otherwise paid on an after-tax basis.

Disability – HHC sponsors a percentage of the salary for short-term disability. Voluntary optional disability coverage is offered, including long-term disability coverage.

Paid Vacation – Vacations are an important contributor to the health and vitality of our employees. The number of weeks of paid vacation increases with the number of years of service.

Continuing Education – HHC understands that education is a vital component of personal and professional growth. Full-time and part-time employees are eligible after four months of employment. Educational assistance is offered at any accredited college and/or university for job-related courses taken in pursuit of a degree.

Employee Assistance Program – When a personal problem becomes too difficult to handle alone, employees can use the employee assistance program at no cost for a confidential assessment and referral to local, licensed and professional counselors.
