The Marion County Health Department vaccinated 190 children during the fourth day of clinics held at Lafayette Square Mall. The four-day total of vaccinations stands at 1,575, fewer than what health officials had hoped to see.
Local health officials estimate more than 33,000 Marion County children do not have their school required vaccinations.
One more Lafayette Square Mall clinic remains and it will operate from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday. There will be a $10 fee per person, but no one will be denied services because they cannot afford to pay the fee.
The health department will hold a back to school immunization clinic Saturday at the Lawrence North Fieldhouse, 7802 Hague Road, from 9 a.m. until Noon. The clinic is free.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany their child to the clinics. Parents and legal guardians are also asked to bring the most recent shot record for their child or a letter from the school detailing what vaccinations the child needs.
